I would love to introduce myself. My name is Chris Massoglia. I'm 32 years old. My wife's name is Shauna & we live in Blaine with our son and daughter. Becoming a husband and dad have been two of the highlights of my life thus far!
With a background in acting, I now work as a digital marketer. Along with my work in politics, I do websites and digital marketing for small/medium size local businesses. I love storytelling and connecting marketing messages with audiences online.
Why Am I Running For Re-Election to the Blaine City Council?
I am running for city council in Blaine because I want to help make Blaine a better city. As a creative, I believe I can help re-imagine Blaine & bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table. As a dad, I understand the needs of families in our city. I want our Blaine to be a safe, fun, artistic, and prosperous city. I want our schools, businesses & neighborhoods to be the envy of the North Metro.
I have been interested in local politics for a while and am very excited to jump in at this level. I hope you will give me the chance to represent your voice on the city council. I promise to put the needs of my neighbors above my own.
Accomplishments I am Proud Of
- Over 200 Million secured for HWY 65! As a city we need to continue to shepherd this project forward to save lives, improve the quality of life in our city, and unlock future development on the west side of the highway.
- Crime has decreased in the City of Blaine!
- Police department is fully funded and was fully forced for the first time in decades in 2021.
- New Sports Entertainment District in partnership with the National Sports Center.
- New duty crew model for our SBM Fire Department.
- Response times for Fire Crews have gone down from 7 minutes to 3 minutes.
- Investments in water and sewer infrastructure.
- Focus on commercial development/redevelopment with the 105th, Northtown, and West Side of 65 master plans.
- Allowing people do what they want on their own property by allowing accessory dwelling units.
- Opening Blaine up to allow food trucks and lifting the red tape they were experiencing.
- Protecting Pioneer Park from becoming a wetland bank while maintaining our beautiful wetland sanctuary off Lexington.
- New bandshell at Aquatore Park for music events and the Blaine Festival.
